“My art is an expression of myself, of the world around me. It is a visual voice for stories untold, silenced or forgotten.”
Cheryl-Ann Webster is a mixed media sculptor who has worked as an independent professional artist since 2000. Her work has been exhibited at juried art shows, studios and galleries in three provinces, garnering a ‘Best in Show Award’ in July 2003.
Cheryl-Ann was born and raised in England. After a brief career as a florist, she resumed her education, earning a Diploma in Art and Design in 1992 at the Lowestoft School of Art (England), and a B.A. Honours degree in Culture and Communications at the University of Lancaster (England) in 1998.
Shortly after immigrating to Canada, Cheryl-Ann set up WebsterWood Studio, and began working full-time as an artist.
Life experiences have encouraged Cheryl-Ann to use art as a visual voice for stories forgotten, untold, or silenced. Her art is intended to raise social awareness and to provoke dialogue about issues that we sometimes fear to express. Cheryl-Ann’s art speaks to what we fear to vocalize.
